GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
- Responsible for managing the full project life cycle, from bid stage through to delivery and completion, of a high value, high profile Showbest projects.
- Management of the Project Delivery process in line with Showbest’s and Client’s requirements.
- Ensures good communication within the Project team (engineering, manufacturing, and logistics).
- Developing and managing staff, establishing and maintaining a highly motivated and dedicated project management team.
- Project Planning and progress management in conjunction with the VP of Engineering (including physical progress and Earned Value).
- Coordinating all project team members, contractors and consultants to ensure projects are delivered to required standards of safety, quality, cost and time.
- Coordinating project activities (Design, Construction, Procurement, Testing and Commissioning) to ensure projects are delivered to required standards of safety, quality, cost and time.
- Implementation of co-ordination and co-operation with site team including sub-contractors.
- Work with clients in ensuring that change is identified and agreed effectively.
- Liaison with key clients and able to discuss the above activities.
- Project reporting for the CEO and VP of Manufacturing and ensuring suitable feedback to the team.
- Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans.
- Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates.
- Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements.
- Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests.
- Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
- Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions.
- Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Strong leadership and analytical skills.
- Thorough understanding of project management tools and techniques, and an ability to adapt and develop project management systems to best suit complex project programs.
- Ability to work constructively and collaboratively with clients so that Showbest’s commercial objectives are protected and met.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Project management experienced. 5 – 10 years
- Experience of developing and managing budgets for large engineering projects.
- Experience of managing diverse teams of engineers to deliver on time and to budget on challenging projects.
- Experience of working with technical leaders to ensure delivery to high quality.
- Experience of working with key clients and stakeholders, including key suppliers and delivery partners, to ensure project success.
