The Opportunity
Showbest has maintained a long-standing relationship with award-winning retail + museum interior designer, planner, and consultant, Charles Sparks. After wrapping our Jamestown Gift Shop project, he reached out to Showbest again when his client, the National Corvette Museum, required a refresh in their retail space in under 12 weeks.
We got straight to work to determine the client’s needs, collaborating with Sparks. We primarily used existing fixture designs like wall displays, cash wrap, and standalone displays to manage the client’s tight timeline and modified the finishes to align with the National Corvette Museum and the style of its display. Laminate materials were chosen to match Corvettes’ aesthetic.
From start to finish, over 50 people were involved in the project. The client chose to install the fixtures on their own rather than using Showbest’s specialized installers. While this can be a more cost-effective route for the client, there are challenges that arise with this practice. For example, our installers are equipped to fix damages that occur on-site or in transit. As an act of good faith, Showbest sent an installer to correct any damages that occurred and ensure that the products look their best in their new home.
Showbest’s expertise and ongoing collaboration with Charles Sparks + Company allowed both production and installation to run smoothly. We’re excited to have such a well-known partner like Corvette. Their reputation for building high-quality automobiles precedes them, and we wanted the display in the National Corvette Museum to live up to the name while remaining affordable.
